Headlands School is celebrating another excellent set of GCSE results, with a number of students receiving Grade 9, the highest grade possible.

Headteacher Sarah Bone said: “After an astonishingly challenging few months for our Year 11s, the last week has been both bewildering and stressful for anyone associated with secondary schools in England.

“As a result, we have made the decision over the weekend not to publish headline school figures.

“Instead, we will focus solely on outstanding successes which were secured by many students.”

Of particular note are (in alphabetical order):

  • Tian Cay: 4 x 9 Grades, 2 x 8 Grades, 2 x 7 Grades and a Grade 6.
  • Lexi Dimitri: 1 x 9 Grade, 3 x 7 Grades, 2 x 6 Grades, 2 x 5 Grades.
  • Alfie Grimshaw: 7 x 9 Grades, 1 x 8 Grades, 1 x 7 Grades.
  • Kate Hickingbottom: 7 x 9 Grades, 2 x 8 Grades.
  • Elizabeth Ibbetson: 5 x 9 Grades, 2 x 8 Grades, 1 x7 Grades, 2 x 6 Grades.

Mrs Bone added: “We are also proud to report that over 50% of the Year 11 cohort will now return to our successful sixth form on Wednesday, 9th September at 1pm. Very limited places are still available in certain subjects.
