About Gorse Scitt

At Headlands School, we are passionate about effective teacher training and have a proven track record of providing both ITT (initial teacher training) and PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) students with highly effective training, which equips them with the skills needed to excel in their teaching careers. Many of our trainees currently work within our school delivering the high quality education which our students deserve.

The leadership team are passionate about fostering a nurturing approach to ensure that our new recruits are wholly supported, valued and challenged throughout their training and beyond. This approach ensures that those who train with us are fully immersed in the wonderful enrichment opportunities Headlands School has to offer both its students and staff.

We work closely with The Gorse Academies Trust, a Leeds-based multi-academy trust containing a number of outstanding academies and an outstanding SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training) programme – The Gorse SCITT. Together, we provide a highly structured, effective training programme that is tailored to the individual needs of our trainees to enable them to confidently inspire students from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5.

We offer school experience days in a wide range of subjects where you will have the opportunity to visit the school and immerse yourself in the purposeful, energetic and vibrant community that is Headlands School. This opportunity will offer a vast array of activities, including speaking to our past trainees to find out what teacher training at Headlands School entails and what a great career this could be for you.

We believe this opening represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to make your mark on education in this country. Therefore, if this opportunity excites you as much as it does us, we look forward to hearing from you.
