Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLd) Dyslexia
The British Dyslexia Association estimate 1 in 10 have dyslexia but many are undiagnosed. SpLd Dyslexia occurs across a range of abilities and affects skills involved in reading, writing, spelling and processing. Co-occurring difficulties include aspects of language, mental calculation, concentration, organisation and becoming automatic in all aspects of learning. It’s impact ranges from mild to severe and dyslexia affects everyone differently, so each person will have their own strengths and challenges. Dyslexia can present daily barriers at school and a young person may find it hard to thrive which can have an impact upon confidence and self-esteem.

Meet our Assessor
Mrs. Susan Fisher – MEd, BA (Hons), PGCE Literacy Specialist, ATS, APC
Sue has over 20 years’ experience of working in education across all age groups, from Primary School to Further Education and within Specialist SEND Schools and Colleges.
She is a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Practitioner, a Dyslexia Specialist Teacher (ATS) and a fully qualified Specialist and SpLD Dyslexia Assessor with an up to date Assessment Practising Certificate (APC).
