As part of the careers and PSHE programme, Headlands School actively seeks to challenge stereotypical thinking and raise aspirations through a variety of activities. We keep systematic records of the activities that students take part in as well as the individual advice and guidance given to each student. Headlands is committed to collecting and maintaining accurate data for each student on their education, training or employment destinations for at least three years
after they leave the school. This data is used to review our careers provision and inform development and continuous improvement.
We map students’ aspirations and careers journey on a central system which all staff can access which means that careers input can be personalised accordingly. Each half term, every student meets with a member of the Senior Leadership Team to have individual aspirations interviews and students in year 9, 10 and 11 have a Level 6 guidance interview.
