The purpose of academic mentors
- At Headlands Sixth Form, each student has access to an academic mentor who provides bespoke support tailored to their individual needs, helping them achieve their academic goals and succeed in their studies.
- Monitor the student’s academic progress, ensuring they stay on track with coursework and identifying areas needing support. Collaborate to set short-term academic goals for the week, fostering responsibility and focus. Provide guidance on study resources, including books, online tools, and extra-curricular activities, to enhance learning. Offer motivation and encouragement to keep the student engaged and confident, while also creating a safe space for discussing any academic or personal concerns.
