Every year, Headlands School hosts Celebration Evenings, to celebrate the wonderful achievements of our students.

This year, the event could not be held in the main hall because of Covid-19 restrictions, so a virtual Celebration Evening was created, and dozens of videos revealing the winners were posted on Facebook.

In each subject, teachers picked students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, who had made Outstanding Progress and had made Outstanding Attainment, as well as selecting ambassadors for each subject.

All of the videos, of staff explaining why the winners had been selected, are on the Headlands School Facebook page.

In addition to the subject awards, there were a number of special awards for services to the school and the Bridlington community.

Here Rev Matthew Pollard, rector at Bridlington Priory and a governor at Headlands, explains why Michael Hart was chosen for the Key Stage 3 Services Above Self Award, which is sponsored by Bridlington Rotary Club.

In this video, Rev Pollard explains why Evie Ripley won the Services Above Self Award for Key Stage 4.

The overall Outstanding Attainment Award is sponsored by Lloyd Dowson. This year’s Key stage 3 winner is Bethany Lee

Mr Stamper, assistant headteacher – community, made this video to tell us why Bethany was chosen.

The winner of the overall Outstanding Attainment Award for Key Stage 4 is Alfie Grimshaw.

Here is Mr Stamper, assistant headteacher – community, with the citation. Thanks again to Lloyd Dowson for their support.
